Best Vandal-Resistant PoE Security Cameras
For reachable entrances, garages and commercial sites, enclosure strength can matter as much as image quality. These picks prioritize documented impact-resistant construction, PoE power, local recording and a housing that is harder to redirect or grab than a protruding bullet camera.

Why IK10 matters
IP and IK ratings answer different questions. IP ratings describe resistance to dust and water. IK ratings describe resistance to mechanical impact. A camera can be highly weather resistant and still be easy to strike, twist or redirect if its enclosure and mount are exposed.
For low-mounted entrances, parking structures, storefronts and public-facing areas, a documented impact rating gives you a more useful procurement signal than a vague marketing phrase such as “rugged” or “weatherproof.”
RLC-840A: simpler fixed-lens choice
The RLC-840A is the better value when you can determine the scene width at installation time. Its wide fixed view suits entrances, garage lanes and general exterior coverage where you do not need to tighten the frame later.
The advantage of the fixed-lens design is simplicity. There is no motorized zoom mechanism to pay for, and the camera still retains PoE power, local storage and open local protocol support.
RLC-843A: better when framing may change
The RLC-843A adds a motorized 2.7–13.5mm lens and 5× optical zoom. That matters when the camera is mounted in a difficult-to-reach place or the target zone needs to be narrowed after installation. Optical zoom changes pixel density on the target; digital zoom only enlarges pixels already captured.
Mounting still determines survivability
An IK-rated housing does not make the cable, junction box or mounting surface indestructible. Protect exposed Ethernet, use a proper junction box or weatherproof connection, avoid easy handholds and mount to a surface that cannot be pulled apart with the camera.

Do not over-mount the camera
Mounting extremely high can reduce tampering but also reduce useful facial detail. The better design is usually a protected housing at a height and angle that still produces the required evidence, not simply the highest possible mounting point.
