Pharmacy Checkout & Controlled-Access Camera Placement
A pharmacy needs useful transaction and access evidence without turning cameras into unnecessary collectors of sensitive medical or prescription information.
Frame the interaction, not private information. The checkout camera should show people, counter activity and access events while minimizing readable prescription labels, patient screens and counseling-area details.
Checkout view
- Capture customer and staff positions plus the counter interaction.
- Avoid tight framing on POS keypads, payment credentials or prescription paperwork.
- Use a separate entrance face camera rather than widening the checkout view excessively.
Controlled-access areas
Staff-only doors, receiving and controlled storage can justify dedicated access views. Aim at the doorway and transition zone rather than deep into work areas where sensitive patient information may be visible.
Privacy boundaries
Consultation rooms and other spaces used for private health discussions require particular care. Have local legal/privacy requirements reviewed before deployment, and configure audio recording separately rather than assuming it is permitted.
