Why installation cost dominates some projects
In commercial systems, camera hardware can be a minority of total project cost. Long cable runs, lifts, conduit, network closets, storage, patch panels, PoE switching, commissioning and labor can exceed the cameras themselves.
Use cost per camera carefully
A warehouse camera on an existing cable path and a parking-lot camera requiring trenching or a pole are not equivalent. The per-camera number is useful for comparing project scenarios only when the underlying installation assumptions remain consistent.
