Security Cameras for Gym Tailgating

Best evidence pattern: credential log + entrance camera + enough vestibule context to count how many people crossed on one access event.
Camera placement
- See the credentialed door and the people crossing it.
- Avoid extreme overhead angles that hide faces.
- Preserve a second contextual view if the vestibule is deep or has multiple paths.
Pair video with access control
Modern access platforms can associate badge events with video and flag tailgating or anti-passback anomalies. Even without automated analytics, synchronized timestamps let staff review whether one credential admitted multiple people.
Privacy boundary
Keep cameras out of locker rooms, showers, restrooms and changing areas. Aim transitional hallway cameras so they cannot see into private spaces.
