To qualify, a model needs documented PoE plus model/family-level RTSP and ONVIF support in manufacturer material. We also prioritize local recording paths and avoid treating a brand-wide protocol claim as proof for every camera.
What RTSP and ONVIF actually solve
RTSP gives a recorder a direct video stream. ONVIF can add discovery, profiles, events and controls. Neither guarantees perfect third-party compatibility, but together they materially reduce vendor lock-in compared with app-only cameras.
