Back up the whole chain

Keeping only the NVR alive is not enough if the PoE switch loses power. If remote alerts matter, the router, modem and any required network bridge also need backup power. Battery cameras can survive independently, but their base station or internet connection may not.

Infrared and cold-weather loads

PoE cameras can draw more power when infrared LEDs, spotlights or heaters activate. Use realistic peak or nighttime wattage rather than a best-case daytime number.
