Security Cameras That Work Without Internet
Many cameras can keep recording when the internet is down. The part that usually fails first is remote access.
Key distinction: Wi-Fi is a local radio link. Internet is the connection from your router to the outside world. A camera can use Wi-Fi to reach local storage even while the internet is unavailable.

- Does local recording continue when WAN access is disconnected?
- Can footage be played locally without a cloud login?
- Does person detection run on-device or in the cloud?
- Can network equipment and the recorder run from a UPS?
