Best 4K PoE System for 30-Day Retention
For 30-day retention, the recorder and bitrate matter as much as the camera. A four-camera 4 Mbps continuous system needs about 5.18 TB raw; eight cameras need about 10.37 TB before headroom.

Best architecture
Use wired PoE cameras with a dedicated NVR or NAS and surveillance-rated drives. Reolink and ZOSI both have verified 4K PoE models in our database, but the exact recorder drive limits must be checked before purchase.
Codec and scene activity change the number
4K does not imply one fixed bitrate. H.265, frame rate, image complexity and VBR settings can move storage requirements substantially. Size from actual configured bitrate, not resolution marketing alone.
Do not buy exactly the raw number
Add headroom for variable bitrate, audio, metadata and future expansion. If you need RAID or mirrored storage, physical drive capacity must exceed the usable retention target.
