Arlo Pro 5S 2K vs Essential Outdoor 2K
Both are 2K wire-free Arlo cameras. Pro 5S is the wider, more premium model; Essential Outdoor 2K is the simpler entry point.

Choose Pro 5S for wider coverage and a more premium wireless setup
The 160° diagonal view is materially broader and can reduce blind areas around a porch or yard. Dual-band Wi-Fi can also give more network flexibility where 5GHz coverage is practical.
Choose Essential Outdoor 2K when the architecture matters more than premium hardware
If you mainly want a simple 2K battery camera and are comfortable with the same Arlo subscription/local-hub tradeoff, Essential avoids paying for a broader FOV and premium positioning you may not need.
Local storage needs the same careful reading
Neither camera should be evaluated as if local recording were built into the camera itself. Compatible SmartHub/Base Station hardware is the local-storage path, so include that hardware when comparing total cost.
