Apartment Security System Without a Subscription
A small apartment usually does not need a large alarm contract. The useful question is which events you want detected and which records you want preserved.

What “no subscription” should mean
The system should still perform its core job when you decline a paid plan. Check whether alerts, event history, local recording, arm/disarm control and device automation remain available. Some products function without a subscription but place important history or advanced detection behind one.
Keep the system portable
Choose sensors and cameras that can leave with you. Avoid permanent wiring, proprietary installation contracts and equipment discounts that only make sense if you stay for years.
Professional monitoring is a separate decision
No monthly fee means you are generally responsible for seeing alerts and deciding what to do. That can be reasonable for a low-complexity apartment, but it is not equivalent to 24/7 professional monitoring.
